At Couve Chiropractic, we’re always looking for ways to support healing in a way that’s gentle, effective, and aligned with the body’s natural rhythms. Our newest tool? Low level laser therapy (also called cold laser). And we’re already in love with it.
Here’s everything you need to know.
What is Low Level Laser Therapy?
Low level laser therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate your body’s natural healing response. Unlike surgical or high-powered lasers, LLLT doesn’t produce heat. It works by delivering light energy into cells, which helps reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and accelerate tissue repair.
This treatment has been widely studied and used for decades in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and even post-surgical recovery. At Couve Chiropractic, we love using it to complement the hands-on care we already provide.
What Can It Help With?
Low level laser therapy can benefit a wide variety of conditions, including:
Shoulder pain and rotator cuff injuries
Plantar fasciitis
Low back pain
Neck tension and whiplash
TMJ dysfunction and jaw pain
C-section scars or other post-surgical scar tissue
Trigger points and muscle tightness
Nerve pain or inflammation (sciatica, carpal tunnel, etc.)
Why We Love It for Postpartum Healing
This therapy is especially helpful for our postpartum patients. Cold laser promotes healing in scar tissue (especially for C-section incisions or perineal tears), improves circulation and lymphatic flow, and can calm an overwhelmed nervous system. It’s gentle, quick, and doesn’t require you to get undressed or spend an hour on the table, making it perfect for new moms.
What to Expect in Your Sessions
Each session is quick, comfortable, and completely non-invasive. When possible, we’ll expose bare skin in the treatment area to allow the laser to work most efficiently, though it can still be used through light clothing if that’s your preference. The laser is applied for just a few minutes per area, with no heat, no pain, and no downtime. Most people find the experience relaxing, and many feel relief after just one session.
Ready to Try It?
If you’re curious whether low level laser therapy is a good fit for your pain, recovery, or postpartum healing, we’re happy to talk it through. Just call, email, or ask us at your next visit.
We’re offering a special this July only: $197 for a 6-session laser therapy package (regularly $222).
Let’s help your body feel better, faster.
